My name is Anneri Marais and at this stage I am sole designer and producer of all STROOM-OP products. Under the influence and encouragement of my children I started working with leather. So privileged to have my own studio based here in the beautiful city of George, Western Cape - proudly South African.

Only genuine leather is used, which is laser cut, then hand stitched by using wax coated thread and finally treated to resist moisture. Jip, all items are sewn by hand - the old fashioned way! Not only for the aesthetics but also for durability that only hand stitching can achieve. Although time consuming the results are worth the effort - it's a labour of love.

Leather is a wonderful medium for expressing my love for designing and being creative. I love the fact that each hide has it's own characteristics and therefor each item is unique. The brand name STROOM-OP is a motto... "Go up-stream, why drink down-stream?" I trust that all STROOM-OP items will give their owners years of enjoyable use.

PERSONALISE YOUR ITEM / GIFT. On request 'names' / 'short messages' can be lasered onto items at NO additional cost.
