I always wanted to make things with my hands. After spending many years in the IT world, I decided to take the plunge and started creating products. SilkandSage was born. Why "Silk" and "Sage"? Well, basically I make a large variety of products, literally ranging from silk to sage...and anything in between for that matter 😊.

I am passionate about natural and handmade products and try to stay true to that as far as possible. I hand make all products on the site. Where possible, I make use of methods passed down from generation to generation. I also use vintage equipment where I can. Why? Well, I firmly believe that our Grandparents knew better. They operated in the era of quality. They bought a pair of scissors once in a lifetime and then sharpen it when necessary, instead of buying a new pair every year. I still have both my Gran's scissors.... going strong after 100 years.

As many of us do nowadays, I also declared war against pollution and plastic, hence my environmentally friendly packaging. Where not possible, I pack products in plant-based, biodegradable cellophane. I constantly look for ways to decrease my environmental footprint.
