About the designer
CoralBloom is a family run business. We are passionate about connecting our customers to the rich biodiversity of South Africa. Our homeware, stationery, face masks and other accessories made of pure cotton and hemp locally sourced in South Africa aim to celebrate the Cape Flora and Fauna of South Africa to bring joy into the home to inspire and share our deep love for nature. Printed with hand-drawn illustrations using eco-friendly water-based inks and energy saving equipment, each item is lovingly hand-sewn by us in our Somerset West studio and made to last.
Our family has always had a heart driven passion and synergistic dynamic where we love bringing together everyone’s unique skills.
Our founder ~ Michelle has a background in Botany (PhD botany and microbiology) and is a self-taught artist and designer, currently the one designing the products and also the one making and sewing everything from our home-based studio. A hobby of painting evolved into a full-time passion called CoralBloom.
The naturalist paintings fusing traditional and modernist watercolor designs are my mother’s and sister’s, who are both self-taught artists. Ann C.
